Triangle Transit and four other local bus systems partnered together to make up GoTransit. We created a fully responsive site not only for their main hub but also each individual partner. As the designer on this project, I created all user flows, wireframes, and final designs. Desktop and mobile designs were done side by side to ensure optimal experience on any screen.
Along side the new GoTransit site, GoSmart was created as a resource hub for all things transit. As the lead designer also on this project, the key was a flexible menu and site in order to make finding information easy for users and to accommodate any future programs GoSmart starts.
In 2013 I completed a year long project. I created a logo each day. I usually took inspiration from an event or meal from my day. Some logos took many hours and many revisions while some take three minutes and are still rough sketches. This blog was where I could play, experiment, and exercise my mind as well as develop my approach to logos and branding. danalogoaday.tumblr.com
Hatch Show Print
I designed these cards and posters during my internship with Hatch Show Print in the Spring of 2013.
I used various rules and patterns and fun southern sayings. The crew at the shop went on to make a magnesium plate out of this background design so they can keep making these cards in the future.
The Diana Krall poster was designed with another intern for the Durham Performing Arts Center using upside down type to create piano keys. Carry On poster was for Freed-Hardeman University's Makin' Music 2013 event. Words & Music is an annual event with students and songwriters at the Country Music Hall of Fame. Another poster was made for a special USO event.
Advertisement posters for various events at the Missouri Theatre, Jesse Auditorium, and the Student Design Center on University of Missouri's campus. I created posters for these events and many other while I worked for the theatre and the Design Center for over a year.
Identity work for a trendy barbecue and sushi fusion restaurant from Los Angeles looking to franchise. I kept the two cultures by hand painting part of the logo to show Japanese calligraphy and used modified wooden type to show western barbecue.
Three Fingered Jack
Packaging for a fictitious company called Pacific Crest Brewing Company, inspired by the book Wild by Cheryl Strayed. The beer, Three Fingered Jack, get its name from the volcano summit in Oregon along the trail. I wanted the packaging to be fun and a little rugged. I created both logos with hand type and created a character for the brand, Jack.
Hot Cup Cold Spoon
Packaging line for a boutique coffee shop that specializes not only in organic coffee, but in homemade ice cream, too. They focus on fine, organic ingredients that taste great. The brand has a fun and modernized vintage elegance feel to it without being ostentatious or wasteful.
Mizzou's 2012 Panhellenic Recruitment Booklet created for incoming freshman women participating in sorority recruitment week. They needed a main book to highlight important facts, schedule, and tips and a smaller book for the women to write notes in. I made rough drawings, chose a textured paper, and kept the rest simple to balance the unrefined and the delicate elements throughout.
